Free stays exactly as it is. Pro only adds to it, so nothing you can do today stops working if you never buy anything.
What a license covers
One license covers one teacher on all of their own devices. Entering your key again on a device that already has it doesn't use up another activation; there is a cap of 10 activations so a key can't be passed around a whole staffroom. That's your classroom desktop, your laptop, and the tablet you plan on at home, with room to spare when a computer gets replaced.
Unlocking is per-browser, so enter your key once on each device you use. Only the key's last four characters are kept in your Deskplan data, just so you can tell which key a browser is unlocked with. A backup file you export never contains the key itself.
Retiring a computer? Open Deskplan on it, choose Manage license and then Release this device, and the activation goes back to your license for another machine to use. Polar, our merchant of record, hosts a customer portal: sign in with the email you bought with to see and copy your license key, or replace it if it ever leaks. Open your Polar customer portal. Stuck either way? Email support@deskplan.app and we'll sort it out.

If Deskplan Pro isn't worth $9 to you, say so within 30 days and you get your money back. No explanation required, no form to fill in. Email support@deskplan.app and we'll refund it.
How buying works
- 1. Checkout. Payment is handled by Polar, our merchant of record. They are the seller on record, they take the payment, and they handle sales tax and VAT. Deskplan never sees your card details.
- 2. Your key arrives by email. Polar emails your license key to the address you used at checkout, along with your receipt.
- 3. Enter it in the app. Open the license box (or use "Have a license key?" in the app's header), paste the key, and Pro unlocks on that device.
Your key is the only thing ever sent to us. Your roster, classes, and charts stay on your device, before and after buying.
Questions
Is it really one-time?
Yes. One payment, no renewal, nothing to cancel. If the price changes later it changes for new buyers, and a key you already own keeps working.
Do I need an account?
No. Deskplan has no accounts at all. Polar needs an email address to send your key and receipt to, and that's the only thing anyone stores about you.
What happens to my charts if I never buy Pro?
Nothing. The free version is a complete tool, not a trial, and it doesn't expire or degrade. Pro adds classes, rules, a footer-free printout, and PNG export.
